Spring Themed File Folder Activities
Are you looking for engaging hands-on activities for students to use this Spring? Spring is all about the weather changing, flowers blooming, planting gardens, and bugs - all included themes in this set of file folders.
These spring themed file folders focus on: Matching Colors, Sorting Colors, Matching Shapes, Counting 1-10, Matching Numbers 1-12, Big/Little Sort, Sunny/Rainy Clothing Sort, Same/Different Sort, Emotions Match, and Matching Uppercase Letters.
These are great to laminate and use at math centers, literacy centers, small groups or independent work stations. There is a wide variety of pre-academic math, literacy, language and cognitive concepts included so you can find activities that fit your students needs.
12 File Folders Included:
- Color Matching: Match the 11 flowers.
- Color Sorting: Sort the kites into 4 groups: red, yellow, blue, green.
- Color Sorting: Sort the bees into their hive: orange or purple.
- Shape Match: Match the shape bugs in the jar.
- Shape Match: Match the dragonflies on the cattails.
- Counting to 10: Count the raindrops and match or write the number.
- Number Match: Match the numbers to build flowers 1-12.
- Emotions Match: Match 11 emotion butterflies. (color to b/w)
- Clothing Sort: What should you wear when it's sunny and rainy?
- Same/Different: Sort the flower cards.
- Big/Little: Sort the chicks by size.
- Uppercase Letters: Match the uppercase to uppercase gardens (option: use letter manipulatives for matching on the folder).
How to prep:
- Print the labels, matching and sorting pieces.
- Trim the large sorting mats by cutting on the black lines. Glue these mats into the file folder. Glue the label on the tab and the cover on the front. Laminate.
- Laminate the matching pieces.
- Attach velcro to the matching pieces and the folder. Students will be able to easily complete each file folder game!
- They are easy to store in your filing cabinet to pull out seasonally.
