In the Missing Letters board games, students take turns drawing picture cards and finding the ending/rime of the word on the path that matches the picture card drawn. Students mentally fill in the missing digraph or blend to find a spot to cover on the game board. ​Game play involves friendly competition and a recording sheet that makes it easy for the teacher to check that students understood the digraphs or blends of their particular game.

In the Spin and Cover activity (sorts 19-32), students choose a picture board from the 4 versions, spin for a beginning consonant, digraph, or blend and cover images of words that match the beginning consonant, digraph, or blend they spun. Students then record the beginning consonant, digraph, or blend of the word they covered.
