Description

Teaching time management in a vocational setting and life can be tricky!  This 6-day lesson unit addresses the executive functioning skill of prioritizing time in a situation and schedule.

Students will use their executive function skills to decipher if a situation is feasible (like, can they really get allllllll that accomplished in a 5 minute passing period?) and when there is a need for urgency (like when a shift is ending and the tasks aren’t done yet). Plus, the pros and cons of being early and late!

Through practical application, students will:

  • Determine if a scenario is feasible given the time and necessary tasks
  • Identify when a situation is urgent and how to ask for help to accomplish necessary tasks
  • Determine the need to be early and the consequences of being late to vocational, work, and life events

By the end of this unit, students will learn about task feasibility, time urgency, and arriving early and late through worksheets, practice, activities, and assessment to increase their confidence in the skill of making time a priority.

Created with teens and young adults in mind, students will see themselves through the questions and examples in these lesson plans.
