Description

This is a math problem-based learning project that can be completed in groups or individually. The goal of this project is for students to design their own pool and use mathematical reasoning and operations to determine the final cost. There are 5 extension activities in addition to the main project.

This activity (and extension activities) includes the following skills:

  • Addition and multiplication of numbers to the hundred thousands with decimals
  • Decision making and planning
  • Calculating tax
  • Drawing models
  • Scheduling
  • Writing a description
  • Building a model using household items
