Description
This bundle contains three resources to support word problem solving with your students.
The Read, Draw, Write resources are designed to help students to understand word problems and how to effectively use the Read, Draw, Write strategy. Read, Draw, Write is a word problem-solving strategy suggested in the Engage NY math modules, as well as in Eureka Math.
These ready-to-print, problem-solving posters reflect the Read, Draw, Write strategy, some student suggestions, along with, some of my own thinking about problem-solving. The use of reading comprehension strategies and math processes are reinforced.
Also, included are posters to model each step for both addition and multiplication problems. These models will help students understand how to apply the steps to problems.
These resources contain:
8.5 x 11 poster files
8.5 x 11 model poster files for both addition and multiplication
Individual Student Strategy Strips
Student checklist and reflection-goal setting sheets
11 x 17 bulletin board size poster files
The 10 Lessons for Word Problem-Solving addresses common student misunderstandings when approaching word problems. These lessons are written in an If...Then format. If you notice a misunderstanding with your students, then choose the appropriate lesson for that student or small group of students.
