This resource includes a 6 step math problem solving strategy; no cutesy acronym or symbols, just problem solving that works! Here's what's included in this math strategy poster set:
Read the problem
Write a sentence that answers the question, steps, or important information
Think about whether or not you have the total and how many steps there are
Draw a model or picture to represent the problem
Solve the problem
Check for reasonableness
There are two versions of the poster- one with directions on the poster and one without directions. I also included small bookmark sized posters for students to have on hand. These could be laminated and put on desk, or glued into math journals.
