Description

Arg, Matey! Get ready to solve some serious problems! Here is a collection of 3 fun, pirate-themed, printable problem solving games/cards for any speech therapy or classroom. These games provide a motivating, engaging theme for your students to work on 3 different social skills/problem solving tasks. The four themed games include:

1. Pirate Problems: Identifying Problems/Solutions

In this game, you are asked to collect as many pirates as you can. On the bottom of each pirate card is a situation that you must answer what is the problem and as an additional task, you could answer what is a solution. If you answer correctly, you keep the pirate. If not, you must put it back in the pile. Be careful, if you draw a "pirate ship" card, you walk the plank and must put a card back in the pile. Look for the "treasure chest" to get an extra turn. Included in this game is:
* 32 pirate cards with situations to identify problems
* 8 wild cards
* 2 blank sheets for you to add your own examples

2. Pirate Pieces: Determining Causes

Scour the waters for as many pirate artifacts as you can find! As you draw cards, try to find pirate "pieces". On the bottom of each pirate piece card, you must determine a cause for the events in the sentences on the bottom. Stay away from the other pirate group, because they will steal your loot and make you lose a turn. If you pick the right parrot, it will lead you to the buried treasure and give you another turn. Included in this game is:

* 32 pirate artifacts with causes to be determined
* 8 wild cards
* one blank sheet for you to add your own examples

3. Buried Treasure - What Do You Need?

In this game, you are seeking buried pirate treasure. On the bottom of each card is a situation or activity that you read/listen to and must determine what you might need to complete the activity or situation. If your team runs into an empty beach, you lose a turn. If you find a buried treasure with your friends, you take another turn. Included in this game is:

* 24 "what do you need" cards
* 8 wild cards
* one blank sheet for you to add your own examples

Enjoy this fun, engaging activity to work on problem solving and social skills!
