Description
Do your students struggle with word problems? Have them use the C.A.K.E acronym to help guide them through the steps of problem solving. Each letter stands for a different action that the students will take in order to comprehend and answer the word problem correctly.
This procedure can be used with any grade level that is solving word problems.
Included:
- A student reference sheet that explains each step of the procedure. This can be glued into a notebook, placed in their folder or be available at a center as a mini-anchor chart.
- A graphic organizer that can be used by students but is also easily replicated when students have standardized test and cannot use the exact organizer.
- An EXAMPLE graphic organizer that can be used as a model and also be given to the students to reference your written expectations for each step.
- 8 one-step word problems
- 8 two-step word problems
- An ANSWER KEY for all 16 word problems
