Each step gives the students a reason for reading the word problem to help them comprehend it better. If you laminate the bookmark, students can physically check off each step as they complete it- and be able to use it time and time again!

The other side of the bookmark is a flow-chart that helps the students determine which operation to use in order to solve the word problem.
