Problem solving is such a tough skill for students to master. My students struggled with this concept so I created this unit. Use the problem solving activities for your initial teaching or in a small group format to reinforce skills.

This set of problem solving activities has story problems that add and subtract with basic 1st grade addition and subtraction. Different phrasing is used throughout so that the students become familiar with choosing an operation.

**This could be a refresher or beginning for 2nd grade.**
