Product Description
This math powerpoint lesson teaches students to use data from a picture to solve problems, while incorporating probability. This flipchart is aligned with the skills covered in 9.6 Houghton Mifflin Math - 1st grade. The lesson opens with the "Problem of the Day" in which students are given a word problem testing their prior knowledge of the probability of an event. It then states the lesson's objectives and lists the vocabulary terms: certain, impossible, probable, more likely, less likely, equally likely, predict, and chance. The next few pages asks students the likelihood of events and how they can use pictures to help solve the problem Last, the students are given textbook directive for pages to complete along with a math journal prompt.
