Product Description
This PowerPoint presentation introduces the idea of how to use the "draw a picture" strategy in math. This presentation can be approached in two ways:

1) Show the entire presentation so students can see how the "draw a picture" strategy can be used to find the answer to a problem solving question.

2) Show the first slide and give students the opportunity to try and solve it themselves before showing the answer.

It is a two-part problem solving question with the first part being relatively easy to solve while the second part is more complex. The animation shows the solution to both questions using the "draw a picture" strategy. The final slide poses the question of what other math strategies could be more effective, opening the class up for discussion.

Please note: the formatting of the preview slides looks different from the original.
