I used this to review the standard. The stories are shorter making it easier for struggling readers to comprehend the story. We like to introduce and review a skill before we do our anchor text and this resource worked great for that. We like to turn task cards in to games which the students love!

I created a game board and gave students game pieces to make it a game board. There is a mistake in the answer key: #11 should say "Temperatures are getting cooler." Before playing the game, please adjust the answer key on #11. I didn't notice it until the kids were engaged in playing. Found another error on the answer key. #1 should say " She accidentally grabbed her brother's lunch. She didn't eat the sandwich in her lunch." The word "eat" is missing from the answer key. I am quite embarrassed, as my administrator was in watching the game when different kids noticed the errors. If you are charging for a resource, the buyer assumes that it is correct. Having 2 errors on an answer key of only 16 answers is not something that you should charge for. I model and preach to check over work for my students, when they find errors on something I give them, it does not set a good example for me.
