Description

If you have problems opening the slides after purchase, please contact me and I can send them in a different format.

This can be used in PLCs, a department meeting, a grade level meeting, faculty meeting, or in a college classroom. There are 22 slides that give information on the mental thinking of young children, gradual release of responsibility in lessons, what that release should look like on each level, shared vs interactive learning situations, word recognition vs identification, teacher reflection questions, elements of fluency, how to manage your word work lessons, and the purpose of scaffolding instruction.

With discussion and reflection time, and presenter explanation/commentary this could take an hour to present. It's aim is for primary grade literacy teachers and pre-service teachers.

This also may be a great tool for parent education on this literacy topic. It is set up with easy-to-understand terminology.
