CVC Words Decoding Progress Monitoring | Short Vowel Phonics Assessment | Science of Reading Aligned

This resource is designed to help teachers easily monitor student progress in decoding CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. It includes monthly student word lists and a progress monitoring journal that allow teachers to assess phonics skills and track student growth throughout the school year.

Students practice reading short vowel CVC words that focus on the following vowel sounds:

• Short vowel a
• Short vowel e
• Short vowel i
• Short vowel o
• Short vowel u

Each month includes a 20-word student word list. Teachers can listen to students read each word aloud, record accuracy, calculate a score, and track progress using the included data tracking pages.
