Description
This is a progress monitoring tool that assesses students’ ability to decode one syllable words that contain two syllable multisyllabic words.
Each assessment takes only a few minutes to administer, and you can get a nice snapshot of your students’ ability and growth. Each assessment contains 24 words in isolation, including nonsense words (there are 8 nonsense words). Each set of words is divided by syllable type combinations. Have students read down the columns.
There is a student page and teacher recording page as well. Use the baseline assessment for the post-test to ensure you are comparing apples to apples. I mainly use these assessments for my intervention groups, but they can be used within the classroom as well.
