Description
This is for a WHOLE unit on The Progressive Era, West (Native Americans), and Technology. I sell the items individually (see my store to see examples of the assignment and Power Point that you would be purchasing), however, this is a highly discounted price since it is a large bundle. Make sure you do not purchase my Power Point and other assignments separately because the same PowerPoint and assignments are posted here are well.
This has everything I use to teach The Progressive Era and West (Native Americans). In this Unit I included the following main topics:
Transcontinental Railroad
Battle of Little Big Horn
Wounded Knee
Immigration
Ellis and Angel Island
Growing Cities and Problems
Big Business (Rockefeller)
Monopoly
Unions
New Technology (Airplane, Automobile, Typewriter etc)
Alaska and Hawaii joining the U.S.
I have used this with Middle and High school students and it works great for both levels.
You will get the following items:
Power Point The Progressive Era, West (Native Americans), and Technology
Notes that go along with the PowerPoint and Guided Notes
Homework that matches the Power Point (called the Objective and Vocabulary Sheet)
Self Study Notes (These go along with the objectives and match the info on the Power Point, but these have questions that go along with them)
Battle of Little Big Horn Assignment
Cities and Immigrants Assignment
Immigrant Kid Stories (compare and contrast)
Jesse James Reading and Questions
Plains Indians Assignment
People in the West reading and graphic organizers
The West Power Point (Very basic about the Native Americans)
A small Progressive Era Power Point
Biographies and Questions on the following people:
• Sir Hirim Maxim (Machine Gun- great transition for WW1)
• Alexander Graham Bell
• Wright Brothers
• Thomas Edison
• John D Rockefeller
An American Tail Video Sheet
Newspaper Front Page Partner Project over New Inventions
Test and Quiz to match unit
I break the Power Point/Notes into Objective numbers, for example Objective #1 covers Transcontinental Railroad, Wounded Knee, Little Big Horn Objective #2 covers Immigration in US (Ellis and Angel Island). This keeps it manageable for the students and teacher; thus, students know what was learned on each day.
I have used this unit many, many times and have GREAT success with student’s retention of material.
** I sell each assignment and Power Point separately, so if you just want a part of the unit, check my store for the other items.
