6 Project-Based Learning units covering the following topics:

• Organisms, Food Webs, and Interdependence (Save the Zoo)
• Force and Motion, Newton's Laws (Newton's Funniest Videos)
• Weather Patterns, Ocean and Wind Currents, Hurricanes (Adrift)
• Plate Tectonics, Tectonic Boundaries, Landforms (Tectonic Destinations)
• Atomic Structure, Periodic Table, Trends (Mendeleev Museum)
• Rotation, Revolution, Lunar Phases and Predicting, Components of the Universe (Space Race, Round 2)

Each project is designed to span between two and four weeks, depending on the project. The projects are designed with authenticity in mind, relating real world experiences to the 8th grade science curriculum. These projects are aligned with TEKS for 8th grade science, but can be utilized for grades 7-10.
