4 Projects, One Low Cost!

Design a Waterpark | Project Based Learning Writing Skills | End of Year

Students will practice multiple writing skills throughout this 5-day Project. Students will practice using descriptive writing using the 5 senses, creating a list of park rules, persuasive writing, determining the problem/solution, and much more! Students will start off by designing a waterpark and using descriptive words in a short essay to describe it. Students will then use the 5 senses to describe to radio listeners what the park might look like, smell like, taste like, look like, or sound like. Next, students will create a radio ad to draw in more park goers. Next, students will create a TV commercial and record it to bring it more park goers. Lastly, students have been so successful in their marketing strategies- there are far too many people in their park. Students must come up with an appropriate solution to thin out their park so everyone can safely have a good time. This writing project is meant to span over a few days.

Included in TPT purchase:

  • Day 1: Design a waterpark, and describe it.
  • Day 2: Describe your park using the 5 senses & create a radio ad.
  • Day 3: Create park rules & post them.
  • Day 4: Create a TV commercial
  • Day 5: Determine the problem and solution.

  • Brochure Template (copy front & back)
  • Pick Your Trip! *Students will visit 10 of their peers' brochures to "travel" to different countries- they'll jot notes down on this sheet.

Shark Tank Project Based Learning | Design and Present an Invention

Project Based Learning is such a fun way to engage students in taking learning into their own hands. Students will participate together in a group to design and market a product/invention. Students will be responsible for describing and sketching the product, and then presenting it to the remainder of the class OR special judges.

Included in TPT purchase:

  • Shark Tank: What is it?
  • Describe It!
  • Sketch It!
  • Review Board Sheet

Build a Boat STEM Project | Project-Based Learning Challenge

Engage your students in meaningful, hands-on learning with this exciting Build a Boat STEM Project-Based Learning Activity! In this interactive engineering challenge, students work collaboratively to design, build, test, and improve a boat using provided materials and design constraints. Students will apply critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while exploring important science and engineering concepts such as buoyancy, weight distribution, balance, and structural design.

This highly engaging STEM project encourages students to think like real engineers as they follow the engineering design process: ask, imagine, plan, create, test, and improve. Students will love testing their boats in water and discovering which designs are the strongest and most effective!

This resource includes:

  • Detailed teacher directions
  • Materials list
  • STEM challenge overview
