Description

Sweeten your curriculum with this Open a Candy Store Project Based Learning activity! We all love candy, and in this unit, students will put their math and science skills to use as they open their very own candy store. Students will use their imaginations to design their shop and invent a candy recipe. They will love showing their designs to classmates and parents.

I have included a graphic organizer for growth mindset during this PBL unit. I have designed this Open a Candy Store resource to be completed individually or as a group, and students can complete the activities in any order.

This unit is marked as good for gifted and talented. However, there is nothing here that is specific to GATE kids and without a lot of adding and changing this, it doesn't really meet the goals of most GATE programs. There are a lot of papers included, but not a lot of depth in terms of pushing students to think critically or advice for instruction. You'll have to build all that in yourself. It's a project, so if GATE to you means projects, it will meet that goal.
