Description
This project based learning activity is a great resource for students to show their creativity, problem-solving and communication skills as they plan a music fest. Students can work individually or with a partner. I have used this with both elementary and middle school classes. You can differentiate the activity by reducing some of the elements for specific students or enhancing it for others. Students will work on their art, writing, math, map and speaking skills!
Planning a music fest will require students to:
♪ Determine a location for the fest and explain the significance.
♪ Create a festival name, logo, flyer and overall theme.
♪ Select musical performers and provide some background on the cover bands.
♪ Itemize ticket prices and special purchases.
♪ Create a map providing visuals for specific locations of required items.
♪ Generate a list of staff and responsibilities
PRODUCT INCLUDES:
- Assignment Sheet (PDF)
- Student Template (PDF)
- Easel Ready with answer boxes on student template
- Rubric (PDF)
- Teacher Tips
- Slideshow with sample music fests
