I designed these planning sheets to support students to "think ahead" and learn to plan their tasks before the actually do the projects. I have seen students who struggled to prioritize and self-monitor, and therefore, I created this to help them visualize their work process and also their end product (so that they won't spend all their time on the decoration and miss the main point)!

Teachers can also meet with students and track their progress. I think this planning skill is a learned skill so we should spend time teaching them!
