I love these for grading ease and student accountability- I print a copy for each student and we go over the project requirements and the elements of each component together when they receive it.

As they complete each element, they receive a grade with the ability to re-submit any corrections they make along the way based on teacher feedback.

After the final grade is earned, I require a student signature before it goes in the gradebook for students to take ownership of their work and eliminate the, "I didn't know I didn't pass that assignment, Miss! Why didn't you tell me??!?" interactions.

If the student did not earn a 3 (B) or higher, I require a guardian signature to reduce the number of mean parent emails about grades at the end of each quarter- they can see what their child did/did not do and employ their own supports at home.
