Description

In this Valentine's Day themed activity, students will practice the laws of exponents by simplifying 19 problems. The first problems are split by the product property, quotient property and then the power rule, and then the last section is a combination of rules with students needing to know how to simplify zero and negative exponents throughout.

Students will complete the problem, then match their answer to an answer in the box. The letter of the answer will then go in the box with the problem number. This is a great activity because it is fun for the students to figure out the corny joke and it also gives students immediate feedback on their answer. If they do not find the answer in the answer box, then they know right away they need to go back and check their work and try again.

There are 4 problems on the product property, 4 on the quotient property and 3 on the power property. There are also 8 questions that incorporate all the properties into one problem for a total of 19 problems.
