This is a complete four day mini-unit on Proserpina, with plenty of potential to extend it for longer. Students read Proserpina’s story in two parts in Latin, supported by an abundance of pre-reading, reading, and post-reading activities all explained in the lesson plans.
Included in this resource:
- Printable PDFs of student packets for each part of the story (Part 1 and Part 2). Student packets include illustrated vocabulary support, Latin text of the story, and comprehension/analysis questions.
- 4 days of detailed, hyperlinked lesson plans for the teacher.
Lesson plan document is 9 pages long, with hyperlinks to 12 additional resources (illustrated vocab slides, handouts, pre-reading and review activities, etc.)

- Accusative infinitive construction and indirect discourse/
- The infinitive esse.
- Beginning to drop some subjects when the subject is named in a previous sentence (e.g. est tristis instead of Prōserpina est tristis).
