Description
This no-prep fall pumpkin project is always a favorite in my first grade classroom around Halloween. The kids have fun customizing their autumn pumpkins, while practicing money and addition skills at the same time! Here’s how we use it:
Students use their planning pages to “shop” for the pieces they would like to use on their pumpkins. They will have to make sure they stick to their budget! You might want to even give the children pretend money to shop with. After choosing, they will then need to record and total their prices and decide if they will get back any change. Once they have their pieces picked out, then comes the fun part...Decorating with the pieces they've bought!
I've included 4 different versions in this set for use with different grade levels, or for differentiation within your classroom.
Included in this set you will find:
- Teacher Activity Guide
- Four differentiated planning pages with varying budgets (7 cents, 12 cents, 25 cents, and 1 dollar)
- Pieces to cut out and glue onto pumpkin (eyes, noses, and mouths)
- Blank pumpkin for decorating
