Description

Pumpkinpalooza has become a fall staple in my classroom that all of my students love and enjoy! I hope you are able to enjoy just as much as my students and I have for the last 10 years!

Planning:

  • Dates to consider: Friday before Halloween OR on Halloween
  • Duration: 90-120 minutes (depends on how much/how little you want to do!)
  • Assemble groups of 3-4 students per group
  • Copies: Seed Sorting Sheet, Directions Sheet, Measurement Sheet (for each group). I put the copies for each group on orange paper in sheet protectors, so I can wipe off, clean, and reuse each year.

Prep:

  • Purchase/Donate: 8-9 pumpkins
  • Purchase/Donate: Cheap Halloween Buckets for supplies, Tablecloths to cover tables/desks
  • Inside supplies buckets: Ruler, Measuring Tape, Scoopers, Sharpie, Ziploc, Paper Towels, Medical Gloves
  • Home Depot 6 Gallon buckets: With trash bag inside ready for pumpkin guts

**I make a SignUp Genius for parents to donate specific supplies or ask for donations at local Pumpkin Patches.

Day Of:

  • Kids can wear fun "fall themed" clothes
  • Tables are ready to go and assembled ahead of time. I also pre-cut the pumpkins, so that step isn't needed at school.
  • Use slideshow to go through expectations, directions and responsibilities
  • Have fun counting and sorting!

This is such a fun fall themed activity for students of any age! Please reach out to me if you have specific questions. Make it fit the needs of your classroom community and have fun with it!
