Pumpkins is a packet of activities related to pumpkins. I use them when I have students whose families object to Halloween. Activites inlcude reading and writing about pumpkins, weighing and measuring pumpkins, gathering pumpkin facts and statistics, creating story problems about pumpkins, comparing and contrasting pumpkins, creating pumpkin bar graphs, finding out how many seeds are in a pumpkin,learning about how pumpkins grow, and discovering the many ways in which people use pumpkins. In the past, my fellow teachers and I have used this as an opportunity to rotate our classes and participate in learning as a grade level. Our students love it!
