Mendelian Genetics for middle school or high school students!
This is a Punnett Square lesson with scaffolds and example problems. The process is taught in 5 steps, giving students a specific strategy for using Punnett squares.
ELLs and SWDs will benefit from the scaffolding materials as each step in the corresponds to a category on the student friendly rubric.
This lesson assumes basic familiarity with genetics content vocabulary and the ability to convert fractions into percent. Introduction questions and deeper discussion questions allow the teacher to assess students where they are.
