Description
Bring your class together whether they're near or far! You can engage your whole class with this collaborative and fun Pythagorean Theorem activity while they learn from home, or together at school! What will the mystery mosaic be? Students do the math to find out!
Watch the walk-through video for a quick product overview. Learn how to share it with students, and what teacher-powers you have as the owner of the file.
MATH DETAILS
- Students use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for missing sides in right triangle diagrams
- Students solve application problems using the Pythagorean Theorem
INCLUDED:
- .pdf with the ‘save a copy’ links and detailed instructions for sharing the mosaic with your students and navigating the product.
- Sizes of mosaics included: 25 sheet version and 20 sheet version
DETAILS:
- Great for distance learning
- The mosaic is a single shared Google Sheets file (easy organization; no emailing or handing in work)
- Every student has a unique set of problems. Copying is not an option!
- The 15-Sheet mosaic has different problems from the 25-Sheet version.
- Instant feedback for the student: "Correct", "Almost", "Try Again" upon submitting an answer
- Easy assessment for you! Percentages calculated live, recorded on hidden sheet that you can view.
- Customizable YouTube help videos linked on each student sheet for convenience. The default are two Khan academy videos: https://youtu.be/AA6RfgP-AHU and https://youtu.be/JVrkLIcA2qw, but you can change these by replacing the URLs in the hidden Data sheet.
- Option to auto-colour sections of the mosaic, if you are a student or two short of the class size, or some don't get the work done but you want to reward the rest of the class with a completed mosaic after all their effort.
- Please note that in-file hyperlinks (links to locations within the Google Sheet) don't work on mobile devices currently (take it up with Google!), but students can navigate with the tabs of the file. Images don't display in-cell on mobile either, so I made the "Question #" titles link to display the triangle image in the browser as another way to view the question.
To check out my paper & pencil crayon math mosaics, check out the whole Collaborative Math Mosaic directory, sorted by topic!
Feedback, Rating, and Follower-ship on TpT is greatly appreciated!
I’d love hear any suggestions and frontline stories have to share.
Thanks for checking this out, I think you’ll love it!
