This product is intended to be used as a performance task or assessment piece after students have learned the Pythagorean Theorem. Students are expected to determine which triangle is actually a right triangle by using the Pythagorean Theorem formula. Following their calculations, they have to write an explanation of how they know the triangle they have chosen as a right angle truly is a right triangle using key terms taught during lessons on this concept.
