Kids use calculators all the time. What if they could code their own basic calculator? And the best part of all they can enter their own values using the keyboard. This package covers global, local and constant variables as well as math operators, runtime errors and some useful built-in math functions. This is a continuation of Python 5 A User Input and Python Unit 4 Variables. Everything is included: student handouts, answer keys, and an assessment. This is the second of 4 resources. It is built on Unit 1 Output. Concepts and skills have been broken down into short chunks. Students are given short code fragments to explore, followed by questions to consolidate their learning. Four assessments have been provided at the end of this package. Students are also asked to reflect on their learning and provided terminology to begin a programming dictionary.
