Description

Quadrilateral Robots: Project-based Learning Math Activity, worksheets & game. My "Quadrilateral Robots" lesson is a great hands-on way for students to have fun learning about quadrilaterals. There is a quadrilateral robot art project, a "robot road" game, and high-level thinking worksheets.

The quadrilateral robots are made up of parts made only from members of the quadrilateral family–squares, rectangles, parallelograms, rhombuses, kites, and trapezoids!

I have included all of the colored examples you need to show your students what the finished product will look like. I have included all of the quadrilateral shape templates needed to create the robots as well as a creative twist on vocabulary cards. I have included six 8.5" x 11" vocabulary posters that you can print and laminate to display in your room.

This lesson also includes a game called “Robot Road” which is intended to be used like a family tree. I have provided a Robot Road in color and in black and white. There are robots on separate pages that you can either print in color or print in black and white and have your students color them. The robots should be cut out and then students can slide the robots around on the road to figure out the subsets of quadrilaterals. They will use this game to help answer the questions on the worksheets (third file).

The third file part of the lesson includes quadrilateral worksheets. Students should use Robot Road along with the definitions of quadrilaterals to have discussions about and answer the questions on the worksheets. This is intended to promote higher-level thinking so students have to figure out the answers to the questions and discuss them with their classmates.
