Looking for quick write prompts for high school students? As an AP Lang teacher, one of my goals is to help my students broaden their knowledge for their argument essays. These Google Slides are a versatile activity that can help build students' writing skills and knowledge of current events, history, and more.

The background of the slides is not editable, but the slides include text boxes for students to respond. Additionally, the assignment instructions are in text boxes so teachers can modify the wording to fit their needs.

How to Assign

• This is a digital resource. It will be added to your Drive.
• There is one slideshow with all the slides together. There are also separate slideshows for each category. You'll likely want to select the desired slide(s) to assign and make a new slideshow that way you have the original for future use and you can make a copy for students when assigning on Google Classroom.

How to Use

• These slides can be used as a sub plan. For example, you might assign a TED Talk or Podcast and select the desired slide for students to respond on.
• You could use some of the slide options as a way for students to research an author, event, etc. related to in-class reading.
• You can assign this as a weekly project to be done outside of class.
• You could use this in conjunction with an article of the week.
