I wrote the "Quick Writing Guide" for Avery Products on a contract basis, and it sold quite well. In fact, some of you may have a copy or at least saw it in supermarkets and stationery stores, among other sales venues.
When Avery decided to leave the "student instruction" business to focus on selling office supplies, all marketing rights were returned to me.
The idea behind the "Quick Writing Guide" was to produce an easily accessible, hands-on primer for any and all students (and anyone else) who wanted to learn how to write effectively or more effectively.
As you can see from the preview file, the guide can be downloaded and three-hole punched, and the page-divider tabs are still readily visible.
The "Quick Writing Guide" covers all the important aspects of effective writing, from a brief but most helpful display of Punctuation Principles to a description of the 13 Most Common Errors in Writing (and how to fix them) to an invaluable Writer's Checklist for Success.
Additionally, the QWG contains easy-to-understand instruction on how to write crisp outlines as well as effective paragraphs and sentences. Also included is a novel method of teaching students how to organize their essays and other writing in the most efficient format.
And "The Quick Writing Guide" begins with an indispensable explanation of the effective writing process, from beginning to end--a five-step process given the acronym POWER.
"The Quick Writing Guide" is a contemporary, compelling, creative way to help students and anyone else realize their full writing potential!
