Description
Students will learn how to write quotation marks and commas in a conversation.
This unit includes:
~Rule Posters: Six posters with rules to follow when writing quotation marks and commas at the beginning and ending of sentences.
~Said Chart: This chart shows different words to use for the word "said."
~Note-Taker: Four corner note-taker to start the lesson. Key is included
~Comic Strip: Students create a comic strip by cutting and gluing characters in their comic. They make the character's have a conversation. Then students name their characters and rewrite the comic strip using correct quotation marks, capitals, commas and end marks. Example is provided for this worksheet.
~Cartoon Worksheet: Students practice same skill as above
~ Practice Worksheet: On worksheets 1-4 students practice putting quotation marks where they belong. Rewriting sentences adding a comma, capital, end mark and quotation marks in the sentences. (Students follow rules 1-3 on these worksheets: putting quotation marks at the end of the sentences)
~Practice Worksheets: Three worksheets total students practice same skill as above. (students follow rules 4-6: quotations at the beginning of a sentence.
~Read and write the room: This is a fun and engaging center/activity that gets students moving and searching the room for sentences they read and rewrite using correct quotations, capitals, end marks or commas. Students worksheet is provided. 12 cards are included. This activity is great for those students who finish early!!
