Description

Oh, the /r/ sound! Does it really have to be such a challenge? Not if you use these evidence-based strategies taken from Preston, J. L., Benway, N. R., Leece, M. C., Hitchcock, E. R., & Mcallister, T. (2020). Tutorial: Motor-Based Treatment Strategies for /r/ Distortions. Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools, 51(4). This two page handout includes the articulatory elements necessary for production of /r/, various elicitation strategies, the number one tip for making therapy efficient and effective and MOST IMPORTANTLY - it includes a list of more than 300 words broken down by position and level of complexity that are FAMILIAR to students that you can use to use in therapy. This is a two page resource that I keep laminated and at arm's length for all of my therapy sessions!
