Empower your students to strengthen paragraph writing and master text-based questions and constructed responses through high-interest reading comprehension passages with RACE and RACES writing prompts!

This BUNDLE has everything you need to introduce your students to RACE/RACES paragraph writing and give them ongoing practice with a variety of reading passages and text-based questions.

This resource will give you the option to teach either RACE or RACES!

Teach your students to respond to any text-based question with well written constructed responses that are evidence based!

The following is included in this BUNDLE -

Introductory Lesson:

  • PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation: A step-by-step presentation that breaks down each step of this writing strategy.
  • Student Guided Notes: These notes are designed to accompany the presentation. Students will take guided notes as you are presenting the lesson.
  • Graphic Organizers: Four graphic organizers that will guide your students through every step of the writing strategy with sentence starters!
  • A practice non-fiction article: with an example response
  • Classroom Posters: Bright & visually appealing posters for your classroom that reinforce this writing strategy! These posters serve as constant reminders of the steps needed to craft strong, evidence-based responses. (Posters come in color & black and white.)
  • Teacher Instructions: Instructions and suggestions for the teacher to facilitate the implementation of this lesson.
