Here is a pack of resources based on the 'RACES' writing strategy.

The acronym stands for:

R- Retell

A- Answer

C- Cite

E- Explain

S- Summarise

It is simple method for teaching students how to answer text-based questions by remembering the key components of a quality response. It helps students organise the information relevant to the answer including their thoughts. Students will learn important skills as they practice writing complete, in depth and clear responses.

This pack includes:

- An individual A4 poster

- Bookmarks for students to refer to at their desks

- A worksheet for students to practice using the acronym (RACE and RACES option included)
