I use this RATIONAL NUMBERS Unit Resource BUNDLE every year with my students. This BUNDLE includes 40 task cards, 10 error analysis activities,10 problem solving graphic organizers, 6 practice worksheets, 5 guided notes, 1 maze, 1 riddle, and 1 color by number page (over 165 skills practice and real-world word problems).

The resources in this bundle are perfect for warm-ups, cooperative learning, spiral review, math centers, end of year review, assessment prep and homework. Be sure to download the sample for a full overview of what you get.

This unit resource bundle includes:

* 40 Rational Numbers TASK CARDS

Each task card has a real-world word problem. Students can work on these cards individually, with partners, or in groups.

Each page has real-world word problems that are solved incorrectly. Students have to identify the error, provide the correct solution and share a helpful strategy for solving the problem.

* 10 Rational Numbers PROBLEM SOLVING INTERVENTION Worksheets

Each worksheet presents students with a real-world problem. Students must then organize the information using a problem-solving graphic organizer. Students are prompted to identify the important information in the word problem, solve, justify their work and explain their solution.

*6 Rational Number PRACTICE Worksheets

Each worksheet includes two sections, Skills Practice and Problems Solving. The SKILLS PRACTICE section of each worksheet includes 6 computational problems to help students sharpen their skills. The WORD PROBLEM section of each worksheet allows students to apply their understanding of the topic to solve 4 real-world problems.

*3 Rational Number FUN ACTIVITIES

A maze, riddle, and coloring page is also included. All 3 of these activities allow students to practice this skill while incorporating fun into the classroom!

* 5 Rational Number GUIDED NOTES

These guided notes include essential vocabulary, key concepts, and practice questions. Students answer the questions, and then color, doodle or embellish these notes. These guided notes are perfect for interactive notebooks or mini-anchor charts.

Topics Include:

โœ” adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing positive and negative FRACTIONS

โœ” adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing positive and negative DECIMALS

Feedback on this resource:

โ™ฅ Exactly what I needed. Some of the nicest rational numbers (with signed numbers) I've seen and for a great price.

โ™ฅ I really enjoyed using the error analysis activity. Great use for review and follow-up with my students

โ™ฅ These task cards were wonderful!

โ™ฅ The error analysis was my favorite part of this bundle. It put a new spin on things, requiring students to write/talk about strategies.

Apply and extend previous understandings of addition and subtraction to add and subtract rational numbers; represent addition and subtraction on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram.
Describe situations in which opposite quantities combine to make 0. For example, a hydrogen atom has 0 charge because its two constituents are oppositely charged.
Understand ๐˜ฑ + ๐˜ฒ as the number located a distance |๐˜ฒ| from ๐˜ฑ, in the positive or negative direction depending on whether ๐˜ฒ is positive or negative. Show that a number and its opposite have a sum of 0 (are additive inverses). Interpret sums of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts.
Understand subtraction of rational numbers as adding the additive inverse, ๐˜ฑ โ€“ ๐˜ฒ = ๐˜ฑ + (โ€“๐˜ฒ). Show that the distance between two rational numbers on the number line is the absolute value of their difference, and apply this principle in real-world contexts.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract rational numbers.
