Math Term and Definitions match-ups will get your students thinking. I used to have my students copy required vocabulary into their notebooks, but when I tested for comprehension, I was less than satisfied with the results. I switched to term and definition match-ups over 2 years ago and I am thrilled with the results. When I begin new units, I start with the vocabulary match-up. Students think critically and use prior knowledge as well as the glossary in their text book to match the definitions to the terms. We go over the answers together before they glue the definitions into place into their notebooks. I then use quizzes to determine mastery. This format has also been fabulous for students who struggle with note taking. The package includes vocabulary terms and definitions and the related quiz for ratios, rates and proportions.
