Looking for a good structure for your students to use when they solve word problems?
This pack will provide a concrete structure for your students to use when they solve math word problems and is based on the use of the operation situations to determine the solution process. It uses the acronym REACT to help students progress through the steps of analyzing math word problems.
This pack includes a colorful REACT poster, a copier-friendly black-and-white REACT printable, teaching guide, and both a lined and unlined REACT graphic organizer.
In addition, this pack includes two similar problems titled “Farm Problem A” and “Farm Problem B.” The task labeled with an A, a one-step word problem, is for your on-level students or can be used to support the students’ understanding of the second task. The task labeled B is an extension of the first task and is a multi-step word problem.
As a little bonus, this pack also includes my word problem song. It is to the tune of “The Addams Family.”
