Description

Our Rabbit Action Rhyme text will provide you with an engaging language and literacy activity for your early learners. Read, listen, learn language and do the actions - a truly integrated learning experience!

This rhyme can be linked to early self-awareness skills via a talk about face and the senses after you have learned it. It is also perfect for spring and to use as a springboard to countless literacy and numeracy activities.

Action rhymes are amazing for integrating a range of learning experiences - literacy, math, movement, fine motor skills and more!

They

  • are fun brain breaks
  • become known-texts for children to read and say all through the year
  • are perfect for transitions and time-fillers
  • can be used as a shared or modelled text for reading and word work
  • build classroom community (all read it together)

As well as the one page text to share with the class, this printable pack includes:

  • one page blackline version
  • cloze worksheet (cut and paste 4 words into correct position to complete the text)
  • picture cards to make puppets or visuals to retell or decorate a bulletin board
  • blackline picture cards - great scissor skills activity and making student puppets
  • word cards to remake the text in a pocket chart
  • a tracing page (draw rabbit's face)
  • a math page - draw extra whiskers to make a double
  • tracing line page (get rabbit to each carrot)
  • a bunny-in-the-basket quick craft - students can write a word family, a sentence or draw a picture, then cut and display their work (no gluing or assembly)

Cute action rhyme. I plan to do it for Easter, but I like that it doesn't mention Easter so it can be used any time. Thanks!
