Description

Are your students ready for short responses that are exciting and R.A.D.D.?

This classroom lesson using the R.A.D.D. Strategy for short responses is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to excel in close reading and prepare for state tests!

By incorporating students love and interest in different holidays and cultures, students will not only learn more about Ramadan, but practice finding details while learning more about different women who made a difference in our history. The text is accompanied by a short response prompt, encouraging students to engage critically with the material. Throughout the lesson, students will practice the R.A.D.D. strategy, which stands for Restate the Question, Answer the Question, Detail, Detail. This strategy serves as a helpful framework for students to craft concise and effective responses to questions. By the end of the lesson, students will not only be more knowledgeable about Ramadan and well-versed in the R.A.D.D. strategy, but also feel more confident and prepared for the challenges of state testing.
