Description

What is RTR?
RTR is a sequential reading program which begins at the most rudimentary Spanish level (Spanish vowels), and progresses all the way up through reading short paragraphs and answering basic comprehension questions in both English and Spanish. Picture and matching word cards are included, along with a host of other activities. When a basic acquisition of the reading process has been achieved, English is presented along with Spanish.

This program contains more than 750 graduated activities and exercises. Pages are reproducible. The scope and sequence is regular enough-whereby students become familiar with and easily grasp the procedures. The program also increases gradually in difficulty offering varied exercises-which keep students motivated. RTR has been used successfully in conjunction with a balanced literacy program.

Who can benefit from RTR?
*ELL Hispanic students (aged 3 to 6)
*Hispanic parents and grandparents who have never had a chance for a formal education
*Primary Hispanic students who take longer to learn and need more repetition (An intervention program for parents and teachers to use at home, or in school.)
*Pre-Kinder - First grade students whose primary language is English, and have a desire to learn Spanish

Thank-you, The Teaching Files! Hope you are enjoying the material. I wrote a Christmas skit... "Have You Seen Santa?" It could be used with classes and families over the holidays. Happy Holidays! & Have a blessed New Year!
