Description

This product includes two versions of a quiz on rational numbers. It aligns perfectly with 6th Grade Go Math sections 3.1 and 3.2, and covers classifying rational numbers, representing division as a fraction, converting to a/b form, absolute value, opposites, and graphing on a number line. There are a variety of question types, and answer keys are included.

Along with the quiz is a three-part review activity that I used in my classroom. I explain each part in detail, and include the necessary problems/numbers needed to replicate the experience. My students really enjoyed this activity! I like to incorporate discourse and movement as much as possible in my classroom. These are VERY low prep activities, but I found them to be effective.

With Eureka lessons, a quiz comes after a topic. I purchased this to use after topic a. Unfortunately this covers the whole unit. I wasted $2.50 because I won't be using it.

Understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values (e.g., temperature above/below zero, elevation above/below sea level, credits/debits, positive/negative electric charge); use positive and negative numbers to represent quantities in real-world contexts, explaining the meaning of 0 in each situation.
Understand a rational number as a point on the number line. Extend number line diagrams and coordinate axes familiar from previous grades to represent points on the line and in the plane with negative number coordinates.
Recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of 0 on the number line; recognize that the opposite of the opposite of a number is the number itself, e.g., -(-3) = 3, and that 0 is its own opposite.
