Description

Review the main components of ratios and rates. The 12 question review begins with naming ratios and determining equivalent rations. It then progresses to finding units rates to solve real-world problems. It concludes with using equivalent fractions and tables to solve rates problems. There is room to show work right on the sheet! Here's how Actis Standard review sheets differ from anything else you will find:

1. Not overwhelming for students and user-intuitive.

2. Each question addresses a different aspect of the objective. Students will see basic questions and word problems all in one assignment.

3. There is space to show work! No more attaching additional sheets to assignments. No more excuses from students why they can't communicate their thinking properly.

4. Answer keys with work! The answer keys are color coded with answers in red and the work in various other colors. Great for finding answers quickly, yet allowing students to figure out where they went wrong or how to communicate their thinking.

Follow my store, "Actis Standard". I continuously post new material! Purchase individual practice pages, notes, activities, tests or buy entire units.

As a teacher consultant for Smarter Balanced, I authored over 200 questions for the adaptive end-of-year standardized assessment, used across multiple states. I am well aware of what types of questions students will be asked on such tests and have assembled questions that will give your students the practice they need to be successful on such assessments. More importantly it will help them master the objectives you are teaching.

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. For example, “The ratio of wings to beaks in the bird house at the zoo was 2:1, because for every 2 wings there was 1 beak.” “For every vote candidate A received, candidate C received nearly three votes.”
Understand the concept of a unit rate 𝘢/𝘣 associated with a ratio 𝘢:𝘣 with 𝘣 ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. For example, “This recipe has a ratio of 3 cups of flour to 4 cups of sugar, so there is 3/4 cup of flour for each cup of sugar.” “We paid $75 for 15 hamburgers, which is a rate of $5 per hamburger.”
Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations.
