Description

This station activity includes 5 separate stations. Each station works on a different topic surrounding rates and ratios. Two stations are website with accountability worksheets to be sure they are doing what is asked. One station is a card game. One station includes a real life activity involving food shopping. Lastly, one station allows students to create illustrate and solve their own word problem. Included are direction sheets for each station, score sheets, objectives, and a self-reflection sheet. Not included are fraction cards for the go fish activity. Feel free to use any fraction flash cards available or make your own. When my students completed these stations, I broke it up into two different days and was able to give them around 15 minutes for each activity.

Compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions, including ratios of lengths, areas and other quantities measured in like or different units. For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction ½/¼ miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
Use proportional relationships to solve multistep ratio and percent problems. Examples: simple interest, tax, markups and markdowns, gratuities and commissions, fees, percent increase and decrease, percent error.
