Read and Move! Heart Word Fluency

Description

Hey! Thanks for visiting! I am a kindergarten teacher making resources that I use in my own classroom with my own students. All of the products are kid tested and approved! This is how I use this resource. After explicitly teaching each word, we review in present mode. Students stand behind their chairs, track the characters, and read the words. I use a presentation remote to click through the words as students chorally respond. If students get a word wrong, we can stop and talk through it for as long as needed. I walk around the room as needed (thank goodness for the presentation remote for this one!) You or a student could click through the slides if you’d like. On movement break slides, we rotate to a new table. This makes it feel like a game! I set up a routine for rotation so that we all can stay safe and engaged in the learning. The movement breaks and characters connect to the theme or story for the week or match the storyline of the decodables from Start Right Readers and are meant to keep students engaged while building their self esteem.
