Description

I have looked at many exit slips for reading on TPT. I have not
found any that really meet the needs of my class. If I give my students a what were you thinking exit slip, I get all kinds of stuff that has nothing to do with what they read even though we have discussed and practiced thinking while we are reading. So, when
I found this great Partner Talk bookmark on TPT (cannot
remember who made it and it is not in the file anywhere) that had great partner talk questions, I made the following reading check-in slips for my Daily 5 read to someone time. I want accountability during that time in my class as my students are extremely chatty and can get off task easily. I made a check-in slip to go with each of the questions on the Partner Talk bookmarks. We are practicing each one specifically every other day or so. Then when we have practiced each one, I will give them the bookmarks to use and they will know the expectations I have for their read to someone time.
